Chennai is a city with cosmopolitan character, a large number of people from other states of India migrate to this city for employment, business. The people of Tamil Nadu are conservative and they always give value to their customs and traditions.

The doorsteps are decorated with kolam which has religious significance. A majority of the population belongs to Hinduism and most of them visits the temples daily.
