The best time to visit Chennai is in between the period from November to February which falls in winter season. The weather is pleasant and enjoyable during this time. In winter also Chennai receives little rains due to the southwest monsoons. So, do carry an umbrella. The winter temperature never falls down to 20° C, so winter is not too much silly in Chennai.  One should avoid the seasons like monsoon (June-September) and summer (April-May) to get rid of rains and soaring mercury.
