MGR Memorial

MGR Memorial is built in memory of former actor cum politician of Tamil Nadu, MGR Ramachandran. It can be easily reached from any part of the city as it is conveniently located at T. Nagar. It was inaugurated in 1990. Once it was the official residence of the state politicians.

MGR Ramachandran is a renowned film actor, producer and politician.  The first floor of the building houses some of his belongings and the displayed things are swords, spears, heavy wooden clubs, his plate, tumbler, telephone instrument, his shirts, the medals won by him, television, his favorite books, camera, trolley & the cloth bandage wore by him when he was shoot out by a co-actor. It also houses other important things of his life.

A bronze statue of Ramchandaran is seen in the memorial complex. The memorial is looked after by the MGR Memorial Charitable Trust.
