Muttukadu
Visiting Muttukadu, a spectacular picnic spot which is 36 km from Chennai, one can enjoy their weekend enjoying kayaking, canoeing and windsurfing. Muttukadu is a backwater destination in Tamil Nadu in which a boat house is developed by the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation. The windsurfing regatta is the main extravaganza of the place which is held in February once in year. Windsurfing and water sports competitions are held in this festival. Adventure freaks can have fun of water sports in any time of the year.
The handicrafts village Dakshinchitra located nearby is the other attraction to the tourists. The village is designed in 19th century style and it is the production centre of the marvelous sculpture, ceramics and glass objects. A crafts shop and a restaurant are here. Tourists can explore its unique hand-made collections of art and crafts. While visiting Mattukadu one can also have fun at MGM DIZZEE World, an amusement park which offers rides, water sports.
