Elliot's Beach
If you want to have a sunbath or a long walk on the edge of the Bay of Bengal, Elliot’s Beach in Chennai can pacify you. It is sited in the south of Marina Beach and this beach offers a cool and tranquil atmosphere. The locals name it as Bessei and it is situated at Anne Besant Nagar. Both natives and tourists prefer to laze at this beach of Chennai. Earlier it was a fun spot of the foreigners, now couples prefer to hang-out here.

There are two religious monuments to be explored as a part of beach tour to Elliot’s beach. One is the 20 years old Ashtalakshmi Temple which has modern style temple architecture; this temple is dedicated to Hindu Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth. Velanganni Church located here is a pilgrim centre for the Christians. The Schmidt Memorial dedicated to a Dutch sailor is also located here. The sailor is known due to his sacrifice of life while saving a drowning fellow.
While frolicking in the beach one can have some south Indian delicious snacks at the food joints and restaurants.
